Tigers sign Corey Irving
Champion Christian College men’s basketball coach Leonard Epps announced the signing of Corey Irving to the 2019-2020 recruiting class.
Irving, a 5’11 guard, is a 2019 graduate of La Joya Community High School in Avondale, AZ. This past season, Irving averaged 3.7 points per game for the Fighting Lobos.
Corey on why he chose Champion and what it means to play college ball. “I chose Champion because of the small town and family atmosphere, and the dedication the school has on teaching the Word of God. I am eager to expand my knowledge of the Most High. Playing college ball means so much to me, because I know that not everyone gets the opportunity to play a sport they love so much. I have been blessed with an opportunity to further my growth as a player and a young man.”
Coach Epps on Corey, “In building this team I knew we had to go out and find some shooting power and bringing in Corey we are doing just that. Corey’s strength is being able to shoot the 3 ball and we plan for him to do just that. Getting him here to develop his body and ball handling abilities Corey’s best years are ahead of him.”
