Brendan Hatfield is entering his 3rd season (2023-2024) as assistant coach for the Champion Christian College Tigers.

In year two as assistant for the Tigers (2022-2023), Brendan Hatfield was able to play a large part in one of the most successful seasons in recent Champion Christian College history. The Tigers would finish 17-5, with a 10-3 record against NCCAA DII opponents, and would also receive its first ever #1 Ranking, its 1st ever National Tournament Appearance, and it's highest winning percentage in school history. Coach Hatfield worked with AJ Williams individually, who would go on to be selected Southwest Region Player of the Year and 1st Team NCCAA All American. He also played a part in the development of Xavier Hall and Braylon Hawkins, who both received All Region nominations. Coach Hatfield also was in tasked with being Head Coach of the new Development Program, on top of varsity duties involving player deverlopment, scouting reports, game planning, film break down, and offensive output.

In his first year with Champion (2021-2022), the Tigers finished 10-4 against NCCAA DII opponents, started a school best 7-0 against NCCAA DII, and were ranked as high as 3rd nationally during the year. Hatfield was tasked to be in charge of player development and identifying recruits, as well as assisting Coach Mo Capaci primarily on the offensive side of the ball, where Champion saw its offensive ranking rise 10 spots. Coach Hatfield worked with AJ Williams individually to improve his game to go from 3rd team All Region the year before to 1st Team All Region the Next, as well as Braylon Hawkins who received 1st Team All Region. Coach Hatfield also played a large role in the recruitment of 17 new players, identifying new talent in a variety of different ways. 

Hatfield comes to Champion after spending one year (2020-2021) with the Ecclesia College Royals, where he was in charge of guard development, guard recruitment, scouting and film breakdown with Synergy Sports, and assisted with practice planning. In his lone season with the Royals, Ecclesia had the highest winning percentage in 5 seasons, and a school record defensive rating.

In the 2020-2021 season with Ecclesia, Coach Hatfield helped the Royals reach their highest winning percentage in 4 seasons, as well as their best defensive rating in 4 years.

Coach Hatfield graduated from Mid America Christian College in 2020, and played college basketball for 3 years. He is a member of Memorial Baptist Church, where he has worked and volunteered in various roles throughout high school and college.
