Tigers Cruise in Home Opener

The first game of the Mo Capaci era was marked with a convincing win. That saw the tigers control the pace and hold the visiting warriors of Bacone to 34% shooting and owning the glass, finishing with a 23 rebound advantage. 

Champion went into halftime with a 51-34 lead, after a dominate first half performance from sophmore guard AJ Williams 21 points on 8 of 8 shooting and 3 assists. La'Corian Ballard led a balanced attack forth visitors with 8 points. 

In the second half the tigers pounded the ball inside punishing the undersized warriors, with 30 second half points in the paint. Leading to the 94-73 victory in the home opener. 

AJ Williams led all scorers with 32 points, on 12-17 shooting, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Braylon Hawkins added 17 points and a career high 18 rebounds. Joe Byrd had 16 for Bacone.

Champion returns to the floor December 11th on the road at NCAA division 1 Houston Baptist.
