Tigers Remain Undefeated at Home

Hot Springs, Ark.

Thursday saw the Tigers play host to the visiting Crusaders of Dallas Christian College. 

The first half was a tightly contested physical game, with 22 fouls called in the first half. With neither team shooting the ball well from the floor, the Tigers were able to extend the lead to 44-30 at halftime. 

The second half saw Champion jump out early, stretching the lead to 23 at 53-30. The Crusaders would not go away, speeding up the the Tigers and clawing their way back into the game cutting the lead to 9 points with just under 5 minutes to go. After a time out from coach Capaci, the Tigers came out and ponded the ball inside to Sophomore big man Braylon Hawkins. Who finished with a game high 29 points and 12 rebounds. Champion closed out the game at the free throw line where they finished 35-50 on the night. With a final score of 82-68. Champion also finished with 5 players in double figures. Zo Capaci had 13, AJ Williams 11, Jermualle Norwood and Xavier Legington each chipped in 10 to go along with Hawkins big night. 

Champion returns to action Friday January 22nd on the road at #1 Randall University in Moore, OK.
