MBB Falls at #1 Randall

Your #7 ranked Tigers came out of the gates strong, in a big time top ten matchup, on the road at #1 Randall University. Leading 14-10 with 10:00 minutes left in the first half, but after a Randall timeout the Saints were able to speed up the game and find a rhythm. Resulting in a 43-34 lead t halftime. 

The second half started the way the first half ended. A quicker paced game allowed Randall to stretch the defense and get good looks from all areas of the floor, while stretching the lead out to 17 points with just under 9:00 minutes left in the game, but the Champion found a way to scratch and claw their way back into the game. Braylon Hawkins third 3 pointer of the game cut the lead to 75-72 Randall with 2:30 left. Tired legs, turnovers and missed opportunities allowed the Saints to pull out a 81-72 victory. 

Braylon Hawkins, fresh off being named National Payer of the week last week, with averages of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Led the charge again, with 29 points on 12 of 17 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds in 38 minutes. Ariyon Williams once again played all 40 minutes, finished with 18 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Xavier Legington added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the Tigers. 

Champion will look to rebound as they return to Southwest Region action next Thursday night in Keene, TX. As they take on Southwestern Adventist University.
