The Tigers opened up southwest region play in Manhattan, Kansas. As they took on Manhattan Christian College, the defending Southwest Regional Tournament Champions. 

It was a back and forth physical game throughout, with the largest lead for either team being 6 points. Poor shooting and foul troubled doomed the visiting Tigers as they fell to the host Thunder 73-71. 

Ariyon Williams led the Tigers with 21 points. Xavier Legington added a monster double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Jordan White led all scorers with 24 points for the Thunder.

Champion looks to bounce back Friday January 9th in Kansas City, Kansas. As they visit Spurgeon College at 5:00pm.
