Tigers Bounce Back With Big Road Win

Two nights after dropping a heartbreaker in Manhattan, Kansas. The Tigers lock in defensively to run away with the 87-70 win over the Spurgeon College Knights in the first ever meeting between the two teams. 

Spurgeon used a hot shooting first half from behind the three point line to take a 1 point halftime lead, at 39-38. Foul trouble plagued Champion with three key player with 2 first half fouls. 

The second half saw the visiting Tigers commit to the defensive end of the floor, holding the Knights to 15% shooting from the three point line in the second half. While pounding the ball inside against an undersized and short handed Spurgeon team. Wearing them down and going on a game sealing run at the 9:45 mark of the second half. 

The Tigers were lead again by Braylon Hawkins, 25 points and 9 rebounds. AJ Williams added 22 points and 3 assists while going 11-11 from the free throw line. Freshman Keyshaun Scott posted his career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Jude Warren led all scorers with 32 points and 14 rebounds for the Knights.
