Tigers MBB Fall to WBU

Walnut Ridge, Ark.

The Champion Tigers start their 9 game road trip against Williams Baptist University, where they would struggle from the tip. after a slow start, the Tigers fell behind 32-11 at the half way point of the first half. Turnovers would be the Tigers Kryptonite, giving it to the other team 21 times, and the WBU Eagles scoring 31 points because of this. Champion couldn't seem to buy a bucket for much of the night, shooting 37% from the field, 30% from 3, and 67% from the free throw line.

The Champion Tigers didn't go down without a fight though. Behind some big shots from Keyshuan Scott and AJ Williams, Champion would claw back into the game to cut the lead down to just 11 with 11 minutes left. Unfortunately, the comeback would fall short as the Tigers just ran out of gas late, as the WBU would get hot from 3. the Final score of tonight's game ended 107-72.

Some notable performances from the game:

Braylon Hawkins did what Braylon Hawkins does, leading the team in points and rebounds. He finished the night with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and shot 7-15 from the field.

AJ Williams provided the dependable handle versus the constant pressure all night, finishing with 15 points and 3 assists.

Keyshaun Scott was nearly perfect from the field, and showed off his improved shooting going 5-6 from the field and 2-2 for 3. He finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds.
