1st Ever National Tournament Appearance For Tigers

Joplin, Mo.

For the first time in Champion Christian College history, the men's basketball team will be competing in the NCCAA National Tournament in Joplin, MO. After losing in heartbreaking fashion in the regional tournament, the Tigers had to wait 10 days with abated breath in hopes of a At-Large bid. This Sunday they received the news that they would be the #4 overall seed.

Champion, who finished 17-4, did enough work during the regular season to be selected by the National Committee as a top team, and although the Tigers fell at the Regional Tournament, they were able to get into the Elite 8. The Tigers will be taking on Great Lakes Christian College on Wednesday, March 8th at 4 pm. To watch the stream, click here.

Opponent Great Lakes is no stranger to the National Tournament, being ranked #1 all year last year and most of this season as well. Great Lakes finished the year 18-15, but played a very tough nonconference schedule. Winning their Regional Tournament, the Crusaders are ready to roll. The Tigers, given a second chance and a new breath of life, look to take advantage of the last few opportunities they have to play as a group and to go out on top.
