Prior to Champion:

Jaylan Coats graduated from North Miami High School in Miami, Florida. He began his college career at Kirtland Community College, competing at the NJCAA D2 level. Jaylan spent 2 seasons there, and as a sophomore averaged an impressive 13 points and 6 rebounds, shooting over 50% from the field.
