Lady Tigers Drop Nail Biter

Hot Springs, Ark.

The #7 Lady Tigers played host to #5 Crusaders of Dallas Christian College. This game was everything you could want in a Top 10 matchup. With both team competing and battling for every loose ball and rebound.

Thanks to the hot shooting of Freshman  guard Lucy Parson (9 points) and Junior forward Destiny Gonzalez (7 points), the Lady tigers jumped out to a 16-12 lead after the first quarter.

The second quarter was a back and forth affair, with both teams struggling from the field. Champion shot 7\5-18, while Dallas went 6-22. With the Lady Tigers clinging to a 4 point lead, 31-27 at the intermission. 

After the break Dallas came out firing on all cylinders, going 8-17 from the floor and 3-8 from 3. While Champion struggled to find a rhythm, leading to 5 turnovers in the quarter and 5-16 shooting.

The fourth quarter was full of drama and intensity. With the Lady Tigers finding a way to stay in the game,by forcing 6 Lady Crusader turnovers in the final period. Missed free throws cost the host down the stretch as Destiny Gonzalez missed 2 free throws to tie the game, and after some late controversy over a jump ball, Gonzalez was unable to get the game tying shot to fall as the final buzzer sounded. 

 Destiny Gonzalez lead all scorers with 22 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Patrickia Daily lead the Lady Crusaders with 18 points.
