Lady Tigers Dominate in Back to Back Wins

The Lady Tigers returned to action after Christmas break with 2 Southwest Region games, against Ozark Christian and Manhattan Christian. 

Monday's game was back and forth to start the first quarter, with both teams exchanging baskets. Until a Lucy Parson jump shot gave the lady Tigers a 12-10 lead, sparking a 15-2 run to end the quarter. The second quarter was much of the same for the lady Tigers, forcing turnovers and tough shots. Holding the lady Ambassadors to 7-30 shooting in the first half, while forcing 20 turnovers. Leading to a 48-22 lead at the half.

The second half was the same as the first, with the lady tigers forcing turnovers, dominating the glass and scoring in transition. With a final score of 84-54. Nay Manning led all scorers with 32 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 7 steals. Destiny Gonzalez add 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Tuesday was more of the same from the lady Tigers. After a slow start to the first quarter, Champion was able to stretch the lead to 7, 21-14 at the end of the quarter. Using the momentum from a late first quarter run to stretch the lead to 17 at half time. 

In the second half, the lady tigers were able to knock down jump shots, while pushing the pace and wearing out the undermanned Manhattan Christian. The lady Tigers running away with the win 95-62. Nay Manning and Destiny Gonzalez again led the way. Gonzalez led all scorers with 34 points, and 11 rebounds. Manning added 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
