Lady Tigers Avenge Last Season's Road Loss

The Champion Christian College women's basketball team avenge last season's road game loss against Baptist Bible College. Last Season, the Lady Tigers lost to BBC at their place 79-85. In the semi-finals of the ACCA Tournament, the Lady Tigers beat BBC to move forward in competing in the ACCA Championship. So last night's game was a tie breaker, 2-1, in BBC's and CCC's new rivalry. 
 
The Lady Tigers started the game with a 24-point first-quarter which gave the Lady Tigers a 24-7 lead against the BBC. This intense first-quarter, gave the Lady Tigers what they needed to be in control from the get-go. BBC outscored the Tigers in the second and third quarters, but the Tigers came out with steam- allowing the Tigers to finish 73-63 over Baptist Bible College.
 
The Lady Tigers shot about 36 percent from the floor, were 25 percent from three-point range, and about 74% from the charity stripe. CCC finished with 39 rebounds and 17 assists as a team.
 
Baptist Bible had similar percentages with shooting 27 percent from the three and were 34 percent from the field. Josie Sullivan was the top scorer finishing with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Harley Maxwell and Autumn Enote followed in scoring for BBC with Maxwell adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and Enote adding 14 points, 6 rebounds.
 
Freshman, Jurnee Hicks was the leader in points with 13 points on 4-for-7 from the field, 1-of-2 from the three and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Aaliyiah Clark, Elisa Gonzalez, and T'kira Fuller for the second team-high with 10 points each. Fuller tying with the lead for rebounds with Nay Manning at eight each.
