Your 3rd ranked Lady Tigers opened the 2021 NCCAA Women's DII National Tournament with a route of 6th ranked Trinity Baptist. 

Champion used their defense to spark their offense in the first half. Holding the Lady Eagles to 23% shooting in the first half, while forcing 14 turnovers allowing the Lady Tigers to score easy points in transition. Leading to a 44-25 lead at the break. 

The second half was much of the same. Champion continued to turn defense into offense holding Trinity to 22% shooting on the night and forcing 21 turnovers in the game. All 10 Lady Tigers saw action on the night, led by Destiny Gonzalez 18 points and 9 rebounds. T'Kira Fuller added 14 points and 6 rebounds off the bench, Sckiya Bannister chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. 

Champion returns to action today at 4:00pm against the 2nd seeded Eagles of Pensacola Christian College.
