After winning the 2022 NCCAA DII SW Regional Tournament Championship, the Lady Tigers came back to double it. A completely different dynamic but same winning team grabbed another Regional Championship. This season’s winning team includes; returners Justys Irish-Holmes, Janiya Gilliam, Jaylen Edmonson and Jerlayn Hardy, returners from 

injuries Alysia Pickett and Aaliyiah Clark, transfers Kamryn Gentry and Tori Hayes, and freshmen Apryl Llanes, Kayla Cassarino, and Allyson Baker. Going into the tournament, the Lady Tigers were ranked #2. 

For the 1st round of regionals, CCC was matched up with SouthWestern Adventist University. Champion came out on top 95-48 with Jeralyn Hardy leading the Tigers with 16 points followed by freshman Apryl Llanes adding 15 points. In the semi-finals, Champion’s Lady Tigers finished off the Dallas Christian Lady Crusaders 99-84. Alysia Pickett came in hot with another 33 point game. She also had 5 assists and 3 steals. Tori Hayes followed behind with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. 

In the championship game, CCC was once again matched up with rival Arlington Baptist University. To clinch another title and to beat ABU 78-73, Tori Hayes locked in with 25 points, 12 rebounds and a steal. Right behind with a double-double as well, Kamryn Gentry added 17 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists.
