Champion's Lady Tigers Grab Another Title: 22-23 National Champs!

The Lady Tiger's  won their second NCCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship after defeating No. 2 Arlington Baptist University 78-73. The Tigers got off to a slow start in the first quarter, as Arlington Baptist jumped out to a quick 8-point lead at the end of the first. The second quarter proved to be low scoring for both teams and at the half, Champion trailed 26-37. The Tigers came out of the half with new life, out scoring Arlington Baptist 24-12 in the third quarter and eventually 28-24 in the fourth to mount their comeback and claim the title. Justys Irish-Holmes knocked down 3 three pointers down the stretch that proved to be crucial in the Tiger's comeback. Alysia Pickett led all scorers with 22 points, while Kamryn Gentry added 15 points and 19 rebounds.

The No. 1 seeded Tigers opened up the tournament winning an overtime thriller 97-92 over No. 8 Campbellsville University Harrodsburg. CCC’s Tori Hayes led the way with 33 points, while teammate Kamryn Gentry added 22 points and 26 rebounds. In a semifinal matchup, the Tigers defeated defending champions and No. 4 Pensacola Christian College 90-60 as Gentry once again recorded a double-double adding 20 points and 17 rebounds. Five scorers for the Tigers recorded double digit points in the semifinal win.
 
Lady Tiger Tori Hayes was named to All Tournament team and Kamryn Gentry was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
