DOUBLE OT, a Fight to the Finish

Arlington, Texas

The Champion Christian College Lady Tigers took care of business against the Arlington Baptist University Patriots at ABU 95-92 Friday January 27th. Friday night’s win irrefutably showed how the Lady Tigers are preservers and don’t give up easily. For the 1st time in the program’s history, the Lady Tigers went into double OT AND snagged the win. The only other time the Lady Tigers went into overtime was in the 2021-22 season against Dallas Christian College in the semi-finals of the SW Regional Tournament. CCC only went into 1 OT and ended up losing, so this season’s double OT and win felt amazing for Champion.

The Lady Tigers were led by Aaliyiah Clark with 26 points (10-11 from the field and 5-11 from the 3pt) and 5 rebounds. Kamryn Gentry followed close behind with a double-double 24 points and 23 rebounds with 3 blocks and 2 steals. Both Alysia Pickett and Tori Hayes added 16 points and 6 rebounds each. Pickett with 1 steal and Hayes with 1 block also helped with the big win.
